In recent years Kollel Chibas Yerushalayim has become the patron of the ‘Galician Plot’ on the Mt. of Olives, the mountain from which it is quoted the Redemption will arrive. The Kollel, that has accompanied the Jewish nation for hundreds of years in exile until the final Redemption which will herald from the Mt. of Olives, has fulfilled the request of Admorim and Rabbanim who wish to be laid to rest on this holy mountain.

Over the years the Kollel has seen to the restoration of the cemetery that was cruelly violated by the Arabs; they collected the holy remains, helped to obtain more burial plots, and as of today the Kollel is in possession of detailed maps showing the paths leading to the graves of the many Admorim that lie buried there.

Another branch on a phenomenal tree of Chessed is the ‘Chevra Kadisha Chibas Yerushalayim’, which offers assistance on all matters concerning burial in the Holy City. The ‘Chevra Kadisha’ helps to obtain burial plots in Jerusalem, cares for the graves ensuring they are being treated with respect, and works on the construction of paths through the cemetery enabling easy access to those who wish to visit the graves of their loved ones.

The detailed maps, and documentation showing the names of the Admorim who lie buried on the mount (such as the Bluzhever Rebbe ztl, the Rebbe of Beis Shatz zt’l, Rav Shlomo of Zvil zt’l, the Gaon Rav Moshe Aryeh Freund zt’l, amongst countless others), opened up a new channel of Chessed in ‘Kollel Chibas Yerushalayim’ – specifically being, the plotting of the gravesites in the division of the Kollel.
